Wycombe boss Gary Waddock spoke to his club's official website after his side's 1-1 League One draw against Carlisle at Adams Park, Waddock saying the Chairboys deserved the point they grabbed through a stoppage time Stuart Lewis equaliser :
"It was deserved without a shadow of a doubt, considering Carlisle and where they are in the league table we played well enough to get something from the game. Again, I know it has come late but I am pleased that most of the crowd saw it because it was a great goal. It is quite funny really because he (Stuart Lewis) popped up in that position a few times in the game and didn't particularly do a good job of it.
"But, the goal that he scored was a great strike and I had a chat with the lads yesterday, the three in the middle of the park, about pulling the trigger and having shots. They need to chip in with goals and fortunately for us he has hit an absolute beauty today. He did against Burton with a couple of beauties last year so he has got it there, but it was fantastic timing.
"I was disappointed with their goal because he (Grant Basey) purely and simply couldn't get out of the way of it, it has hit the crossbar and gone in the back of the net. There were a couple of penalty appeals for both sides, but I thought over the course of the game we created more chances really and we deserved something from the game.
"The players probably looked a little bit shellshocked by their goal because they have battled back in recent weeks with goals late on and points late on. It was a case of seeing that go in and the way it went in, is it going to be our day today as such? But, sometimes when you are down the bottom like we are goals like that you do concede, but it probably took them a couple of minutes to get over it and you saw, again, how they responded to it."
"We shouldn't be leaving it so late but we have got back into the game and it is another valuable point. There are some big games coming up, and we are at home today and everybody wanted us to win, but let's have a look at Carlisle and see how well they have done this season as well. We knew it was a difficult game, a difficult fixture, we go into Monday's game now against Chesterfield, if we can get a positive result up there then we will put ourselves right back in the mix.
"The recovery and rest now is important for the players, we have played today and Chesterfield play tomorrow so in terms of recovery we have got 24 hours more to recover. But, we won't know if that is going to benefit us or not until possibly five o'clock on Monday evening, but to come back yet again just shows the character within that group.
"The reason I took Anthony Stewart off, you need to take a gamble sometimes and I needed to get an extra forward on the field of play. I could have done it earlier but I didn't, I left it, and we have got our rewards late on in the game. But, he has been excellent in both games he has played, he made one or two mistakes today but he recovered from them, so I am pleased with his performance.
"It is easy for us now to say to take each game as it comes, but we have got five games remaining and the last five are very, very difficult games for different reasons. The last three, you are looking at teams who are possibly champions, possibly second or play-offs, so they are difficult games, and Chesterfield are fighting for their lives and Oldham will be looking to get a result.
"So, we have just got to pick up as many points as we possibly can and hopefully a few more teams get dragged in and around where we are. But, we did pick up some knocks today, obviously because of the type of game it was today, but by the time we get on the coach on Sunday everybody I am sure will be fine. If they are not we have got a squad and players that are capable to come in to do a job."
