United assistant boss Graham Kavanagh spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Matt Newsum after Carlisle's 1-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final win over Brentford, Kavanagh hoping for a good party this evening :
"An absolutely fantastic afternoon, you can see what it means to the people of Carlisle and all the fans, you can see what it means to the players and I have just been having a look there at the chairman (Andrew Jenkins) and the directors, they are absolutely over the moon. So, hopefully there is a really good party this evening and hopefully the people back home will enjoy it as well.
"We do have a lot of new players but the key factor I thought this year was our understanding of the day of it and the game and not really over-emphasising it, just actually getting on with the occasion and playing. Luckily enough we did that today and I thought we played particularly well.
"It has been an unbelievable week for Murph, he had the baby, he missed training on Friday, he came down late on Friday evening. Murph being Murph, to be fair to him, he is a credit to himself, he is a credit to his profession and his team-mates love him, he has got the goal today and a magnificent performance and well justified as the man of the match.
"We have missed out quite a few times, last year was a horrible day, we didn't perform, we had a lot of individual mistakes and we wanted to put it right. It was nice today to be able to put it right in the manner we did, the clean sheet, the great goal and a good performance. It was tense, of course it was, we were pleased to see the man (Toumani Diagouraga) get taken off because I thought they were starting to get the upper hand in the game, which we were a little bit concerned with.
"But, to be fair to the boys they have dug in, there are a lot of inexperienced players there but what they are is honest, they worked their proverbials off and credit to them, I am absolutely delighted for them, I am delighted for the fans and it is nice way to end the season with a cup in the trophy cabinet so to speak, and let's see where we can go in the league, let's see if we can win a few more games and see where it takes us."
