" You wouldn't take the job if you couldn't deal with or handle the little pressures. We have got a gameplan, I am a right long way down the line in terms of players that I would like in and ones that we would let go to other clubs to get games. All that matters is that the figures are right, the figures all add up. That plays an important part, I can give you loads of names if you want but if I said to the club that I wanted to sign (Cristiano) Ronaldo and (Wayne) Rooney. Then I think that they would come back and say that we are just a couple of bob too short in terms of wages.
" You have got to pick the right players at the right level and for the right amount of money. If all those things add up then we have got a terrific list of players that we would like to come in and that we think would make us better. We have got to try to make those happen and that is a juggling act really, it is a bit of a game isn't it. You can't just go out and buy what you want, you have got to make the figures add up as well to an extent.
" The board have been terrific, they have said to me to go and do what I have got to do and that they will support me. If there are the right players out there and I go back to them and it is within the levels that they have given me then they will do it for me, that has been fantastic, the meeting yesterday was brilliant.
" I don't read into any of the supporters comments about the board because if we get into the Championship then that is a real positive. We are talking about a negative and we haven't even got to the Championship yet. I am ambitious, I am not wanting to keep Carlisle as a mid-table League One side, I want to go forward and I want to take the club forward.
" The board have been supportive in everything that I have done and they have said that there is money available. So come the January transfer window we will find out if that is the case. As far as I am concerned though if I get the right players in then they are prepared to back me. So we have to wait and see, we can't keep talking about negativity and doom and gloom and we are not getting to do this and we are not going to get that. "
" We have got to wait and see what is happening, at the minute we have shown a little improvement in results. What we want to do now is improve the squad, we have got January to do that, nothing can really happen at the minute. Again, I can't wait for the window to open because all the speculation and all the rumour mills are going and we can't do anything about it just at the minute.
" People can see a list of the players that we have got here and I have shown the board that and they are really pleased with the names that we have come up with. Some of them will cost us money as well but they have said that they will go for that, we won't always get them because it might not be the money that the clubs want.
" We are going to put forward a list of players and a gameplan to hopefully improve the playing squad and improve where we are. Now hindsight is what we need today, if it doesn't happen over the next six to twelve months then the fans and my staff and me alike have got a gripe, at the minute though that has never been the indication.
" I think that it looks like we are going to wrap something up with Graham (Kavanagh), so that is a real positive for us to start with. I spoke to Sunderland and they are OK, I know Ricky (Sbragia) quite well and he is very good with me, he knows my situation as is his. Obviously his run of games is a bit tougher than mine to start with but I have given him some advice and he was laughing at me with that.
" So we are OK and it looks like Graham will get wrapped up and that is one in the bag already. Graham doesn't come cheap either, he is from a big club and that just shows you, the board could easily say that we can't afford it and for him to go back but no problem straight away. Whatever it costs if you want him then let's get him in, so he is a starter for ten. We are looking to get in one or two permanents but permanents aren't always easy at this time, you have to pay your way for them. "
" A lot of that work will possibly have to be done in the summer when players are out of contract and you go with permanents. At the minute you are looking at the loans and you would be hoping that you can get the permanent, but people tend to inflate prices within that short period that the window is open. Obviously inflated prices aren't where we are looking, we are looking at value for money.
" I am always buzzing and Dennis (Booth) is buzzing more than me. We have got a lot of energy and a lot of enthusiasm and a fair bit of knowledge between us. We know what we are doing and it is a terrific time for us and hopefully it will be a terrific time for the fans and the players. Whilst we are new in terms of it is a new structure and a new management team we can't wait to take the club forward.
" We will be giving it everything that we have got, the players know that, they have been terrific with us, the response has been grand. To be fair 99% of the supporters, 100% of the supporters, everybody is entitled to criticism but we are OK with that as well. I think that the fans have been terrific, they have been waiting for something to happen.
" They are impatient, fans are the most impatient people in the world, they want their football club to do well and that is the pressure that we are under to try to do that as quickly as we can. We are trying and I know that they are with us and they were terrific on Saturday again. I know that they will turn up in their numbers to support us against Leicester which is a terrific game for us to look forward to. So we are trying, I know that they are waiting and between us we will hope to get it right.
" We were at a game last night, we will be at a game tonight, we will be at a game tomorrow night, we are training Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. So there aren't many rest periods, I think that I would rather be on the bus. It is good though because we have got four really good training days, today is a smashing day, yesterday was a good day as well, and then on Thursday and Friday we will start doing our teamwork towards Leicester. "
" It is good though because we can just relax a little bit without jumping on the bus, jumping off the bus and trying to do all the other bits and pieces that go with it. At least we have got a couple of clear days in the office as well. You would be surprised how much went on, well you probably wouldn't be, but there is a lot goes on in the office in an afternoon. Preparing and talking about players and watching the game from Swindon and stuff like that. It is good though, it gives you just a little bit more chance to organise yourself properly, but we are fine.
" His (Tim Krul's) loan period is up a little bit before January so again he is one that we would like to extend into the transfer period. I know that Newcastle wanted him to get some games which we have done, they are probably looking to see if he is good enough to go on as their number two so that they can deal with their goalkeeper situation. We will look to see what they want though, I think that they will probably want him to have another month and then we have got to have a look at that situation.
" Then obviously Ben Williams comes into the frame and we are going to say to Ben to go and prove that that position is his, and then we will deal with the situation around that. At the minute though we would like to think that Tim would maybe give us another month and that takes us into the middle of the window, and we are comfortable with that.
" I think that you have got to be together, if you are going to have success then success breeds from togetherness. I will have my moans, supporters will have their moans, the board will have their moans, you will have your moan, we are all entitled to our moans and criticisms but what we have got to make sure is that they don't end up being negative slants all the time.
" We have to make sure that we have some positive energy running throughout the club and you will get that from within this club. I don't think that you will find much doom and gloom in here and we are looking to improve things as a whole group. The supporters are vital to that and the players and staff alike are major players, so let's get on with it and let's get going. "
