One-time United player and ex-Wycombe manager John Gorman, who was speaking to Northampton Town's official website, talked about the 1-1 draw against Carlisle at Brunton Park. Gorman commenting about the reception he got from the Blues fans and the away form of his team :

"I was pleased with the way we played. It's a very difficult place to come and Carlisle have certainly improved from last season. We played well in the first half but after the break Carlisle upped their game and caused us more problems. We were unlucky to concede the equaliser because we felt there was certainly a foul on Jason Crowe.

"I think some teams will fold against Carlisle this season because they put you under pressure with a partisan crowd and plenty of pace in their team, but we stood tall. Sam Aiston has a bad ankle injury and he could be out for a while. Andy Holt had to go in and have a knee cartilage operation earlier today so all things considered I was very pleased with the way we played.

"If I am being honest I am happy with a draw. They could have sneaked it as they got a head of steam going but we dug in and stayed strong and got a very good point. We are doing well away from home at the moment. Every game away from home has been difficult so far and if we can get our home form right we will be happy.

"Ryan Gilligan had a big impact when he came on. People were also always telling me that Andy Kirk and Scott McGleish could not play together and do not score when they play together. Well, they have eight goals between them already this season and that's not bad.

"I got a great reception from the Carlisle fans and even at the end of the game they were very appreciative of the way we played. On Tuesday we have a chance to get our home form back on track. We have got to be more resolute at home to get a result. If we have to dig in and sneak a result then that is what we will have to do."
