United managing director John Nixon spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria on Tuesday evening, Nixon talking about the disappointing postponement, due to a frozen pitch, of Carlisle's scheduled League One match at home Nottingham Forest tonight :

" It's the usual area that we have at the Warwick Road End where, because of the stand, the sun doesn't get onto it but we've had heaters blowing on that all the way through the night and this morning. I think that the referee appears to, from what I've been told, have taken into account the fact that the temperature is due to drop to minus one at six o'clock tonight and go to minus two by 9 o'clock.

" He's taken into account the forward forecast rather than just where we are now, and has made some assumption, probably rightly so, that the pitch infact will become more difficult to play on as the night progresses.

" We have had the thing covered since Friday last, the groundstaff have done a great job, we have had a lot of help as well this morning and obviously we are all disappointed but we were probably working against the elements at the end of the day. We could just have done with a little bit less frost last night, it would have really helped but that is not in our hands. "
