Sponsors man-of-the-match Kevin Gall spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he talked about the effort the players will be putting in between now and the end of the season :

" I think it was a good performance from the lads today, I think we needed to win, I think we needed those three points and I think we dug in well. I know they went down to ten men but I think we passed them off the park again today, I think that we showed that when we play our football that we are a team to be reckoned with really.

" Maybe we have a little bit of inconsistency but that's football isn't it. You can't play your football every single week, we go out there every week to try to play it but sometimes it doesn't come off. Today it came off for us and I thought every single player was excellent.

" I don't really remember much about my goal, I don' even know who crossed it. The gaffer (Neil McDonald has been getting on to me about getting around the back-post so I just sort of flung myself at it. I think the defender kicked it at me and it hit me in the face, hit me straight on the nose, and it went straight in.

" They all count though don't they, it's good for me, I've been waiting to get a goal for a while. Obviously I haven't started the last two games because of the injury, I started back again today and it was nice to get on the scoresheet really.

" That's what we've got to do, we've been trying to get off to a high tempo every game. We got into the game really early today and we got the ball down and played in their half I think for the first 15-20 minutes, that's what probably won the game for us. Tranmere is another big game, I think every game is a big game now. It's another game for Carlisle United to try to push forward and see where we can get to.

" In football you never give up, I don't think you've got to look at the table and think that we need 20 points, or 15 points or whatever. At the end of the day you've got to go out and try to win every single game, and each game as it comes really, and I think that's what every lad every does. I think all the players are too professional to get let things go and have an easy ride now.

" I know the gaffer and Greg (Abbott) wouldn't let that happen anyway and I think that if anybody actually does slacken up then one of the lads will be the first to say something. We're not going to slack off at all, we're going to go and see how far we can go this season. "
