" It was a great win for team spirit, I think it was well overdue and needed for us and the lads showed great team spirit today, we've got to keep doing that if we're going to keep getting up the table. It's a relief for me to get on the scoresheet as well, I think it's been nine or ten games, I think it's just one of those things though, to be honest I haven't really been thinking about it.
" I've done a lot of work in training with Greg (Abbott), every day we've been doing extra stuff and I think it's one of those things where it's a little bit surreal in training but when it comes to the games it is a lot different. Obviously I took the goal well today and it has got us the win, so everyone is happy really.
" I thought the three lads, and when Derek (Holmes) came on as well, defended well from the front and held the ball up quite well which enabled us squeeze up a little bit. Even though with Chris Shuker who is a dangerous player for them, and I thought he was their best player, we've kept him quiet when we could have done. We've defended really well at the end, we've attacked well and were unlucky not to get a few more really.
" I think it's a huge win, the lads haven't given up or anything, they've kept the team spirit going, we've kept the energy and workrate going, training has been hard and the lads have worked really hard. I think that shows in the games and you could see that everybody was knaccered after the game as we just gave everything into the game for the win, just everything it takes to get three points really.
" When you win it's always nice to have a week off to get your energy back, if you win on Saturday then lose on a Tuesday you are back in that bad mind again. We've got a week now to work hard, and we will work hard again. It will be a tough game down at Gillingham, but I think the way we are playing, even though we were getting beat, we've got a win today and we can definitely play people off the park. I think it's really important for us to go down there with a good attitude and to work hard, I think that if we play anywhere near the way we played today then I think we'll win the next game again. "
