United new boy Lee Miller (LM) spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's James Phillips (JP) following Carlisle's 2-1 victory away to Leyton Orient, MIller speaking about a dream debut for himself :
JP
What did that feel like for a debut? Had a better one?
LM
Erm, I can't say I have, it was great to be involved in the first place and to get the three points and two goals on top of that was an extra bonus.
JP
Were you surprised at coming in and going straight into that starting line-up today?
LM
I was a little to be honest because the boys have been playing well so I have heard, but obviously whoever gets picked is looking to play their best and keep their mainstay in the team.
JP
In terms of your two goals, talk us through them, what did you make of them?
LM
To be honest Francois (Zoko) has done tremendous down the right and I have just kind of peeled off at the back-post and I couldn't have picked a better cross to get on the end of. The second one I was ready to celebrate with Craig (Curran), I thought he had put it in, and obviously I have been on hand and it has fallen to me in the box and I have just put it away.
JP
Something that United have been looking for though, someone who was waiting to celebrate but still also in the right place to finish it off if it was saved, which it was?
LM
Yeah, it is one of those things, sometimes it is opportunist to pop up in the right place at the right time, it is tremendous to get off the mark and hopefully long may it continue.
JP
Coming into the club, I mean I am sure you are aware, Carlisle United have been crying our for somebody to be in the right position to get the goals, they have got plenty of players to provide chances but just not quite somebody to put them away, are you ready for that sort of pressure of expectancy?
LM
Yeah, to be honest, there are plenty of boys that can put the ball in the back of the net, you have seen the threat Craig gave when he came on and Francois who does well, we have got midfielders who score goals and get forward, we have got a lot of attacking midfielders, so no, I feel there are plenty of goals in the team and hopefully I can kickstart us.
JP
There will be a lot of fans that will be disappointed to learn that you can't play on Tuesday night unfortunately?
LM
Yeah, I know, disappointing, obviously I want to keep the run going if anything, keep the games thick and fast, but it one of those things, rest up and hopefully I will get my chance next Saturday.
JP
That is because you are cup-tied isn't it?
LM
Yeah, I played for Middlesbrough against Walsall so cup-tied unfortunately.
JP
What does it feel like coming here after that time for you at Middlesbrough? Does it feel like an opportunity to maybe show them a little bit of what they are missing out on now?
LM
To be honest I just want to play, as simple as that, I have been sitting on the bench, in the stands, frustrating, you end up pulling your hair out and you just want to get on that pitch and show what you can do, and hopefully I can get that at Carlisle.
JP
Why when Greg Abbott and Carlisle came knocking made you think that is the opportunity for me?
LM
Well, to be honest I saw them pre-season against Middlesbrough, I was in the other team obviously and they were tremendous, they got the ball down, played in the manner football should be played in and I thought they looked tremendous. Obviously, I met with Greg (Abbott) the manager and his enthusiasm for the game was brilliant and I know Kav (Graham Kavanagh), so I was just delighted to be wanted if anything.
JP
Chris Lumsdon said he played against you back in your Bristol City days, do you remember Chris?
LM
Not off the top of my head no.
JP
That is the right answer.
LM
I apologise but I am terrible with that but I had good time at Bristol, I enjoyed my time there.
