United striker Lee Miller (LM) spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Andy Wood (AW) following Carlisle's 4-2 League One defeat at home to Bristol City, Miller glad to be back in action for the Blues:
AW
You must be personally, before we get onto today’s game, happy to be gradually getting some pitch time again?
LM
Yeah, definitely, buzzing to get back on the pitch to be honest. It was a long three weeks, if that, and I am just delighted to get in amongst it again. The boys are playing really well and just disappointing the result today.
AW
Yeah, and it was just a couple of moments of class from them that was the difference wasn’t it in the end?
LM
Yeah, you could say that, I think we have given away a couple of pieces of sloppy play that has let them in to be honest. But, no, the boys have been magnificent, we have got to just take that on the chin and stroll onto next week.
AW
What are things like within the camp because it seems like it is almost totally different to what it was a few weeks back, there seems to be a bit of buzz, a bit of happiness and a bit of confidence as well in there?
LM
Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head there, the confidence, we have got a belief in ourselves, we have got a good platform to work from and I think we have worked a lot on shape, which you can see that throughout the team. Everybody knows their own jobs, and I think the confidence is installed in ourselves now, I think we are playing for each other.
AW
How do the new lads seem to have fitted in in the group, because I know Pascal Chimbonda from minute one has been directing everybody around him, is that just the kind of guy he is?
LM
That is the personality he is, he is great to have in the dressing room, bounce a wee bit of banter off him and stuff like that. But, he is experienced, I think we have got a good mixture of experience and youngsters coming through and I think they are taking everything on board.
AW
And of course a long journey next week for you, but a chance to I suppose put right today, and it has happened before hasn’t it, the MK Dons game on Tuesday put right Oldham, so hopefully it can happen again?
LM
Yeah, exactly, it is in our own hands, we have got a shape that we play to and I think it works for us. You have seen at MK Dons that we frustrated them, we played on the counter and I think we deserved the three points there. Hopefully we can go to Gillingham and do the same.
AW
Graham Kavanagh laughed off the word ‘play-offs’ last week and I know it is a long, long way off anyway is any kind of end of season run for the play-offs, but amongst the camp do you think from what you have seen, I mean you have played at a higher level as well, from what you have seen is there enough within the squad to push yourself for those play-offs?
LM
Well, I don’t think we can talk about play-offs just now, I don’t think Yeovil would have spoken about play-offs at this part of the season. But, you look at them from last season, we have got to take that on board and hopefully we can do that, you never know, football is a funny game.
