County winger Lewis Gobern spoke to BBC Radio Nottingham after his side's 1-0 League One defeat at home to Carlisle, Gobern having only signed for the Meadow Lane outfit late last week :

" I have been waiting for this challenge to get back into the league and hopefully show everyone what I am about. I got a few minutes today and hopefully more will come and I can show the Notts County fans what I can do and we can start winning.

" We have been on an eight game unbeaten run and the boys have been doing great, but like the gaffer (Paul Ince) said, it has got to end at some stage and today was unfortunate. I think we had quite a few chances but they just weren't going in the onion bag, and hopefully on Tuesday we can put things right and get the three points.

" Just after I came on I tried a shot for the far-post, I tried to curl it in at the far-post but I didn't quite catch it the way I wanted to. But, hopefully the more I keep playing and getting my eye in, it takes a while when you first come in, but hopefully it will go in next time.

" I was with Paul Ince when he was a manager at MK Dons and at Wolves when he was a player. So, I know what the gaffer is about, he expects high standards, he expects you to work hard. I think we have got a great set of lads here at the club, everyone works hard for each other and puts in a shift. I think it was unfortunate today, I think they were obviously on the back foot and they were just happy to get three points. I think they were hanging on at the end but it was just one of those games I guess. "

" The gaffer has always told me that he believes in me as a player and I believe in myself. So, hopefully I can stay fit and keep getting the chances he gives me and take them whenever I get the chance. Hopefully the fitter I get the better I get, so I am just looking forward to the next few games really.

" He told me before I came on today to go out there and show everyone what I am about and to enjoy it, mainly to go out there and enjoy it and express myself. So, that was the main thing he told me to do and hopefully I can do that when I get the chance.

" They doubled up on me a bit and it was just a frustrating day, I think the boys were just willing that goal to go in and I think if we had got one then we could have got two or three and got on a roll but that one just wouldn't go in for us today. But, we will get back to the drawing board and put it right on Tuesday and try to get three points.

" Alan Gow's one in the first-half was unfortunate, when chances come early on in the game and if we had put that in then personally I think we would have been cruising. I think we would have got one or two more then obviously we would have won the game, but football is like that sometimes.

" There might be a game on Tuesday where we don't have most of the ball and we get the win, and that is the main thing. Everyone will think the same, getting three points is the main thing so hopefully on Tuesday we can get a bit of luck and get the goal we need and take the three points. "
