" When I first came to the football club, Michael Bridges, when I had the private conversations with him, it was all about him trying to get back to the Premiership or the Championship if he possibly could, so I had that in the back of my mind all the time. Hull made an approach and obviously Michael found out about it and he said that he wanted to go, so I think the club have first of all said you are one of our best players and we don't want you to go.
" That's where he wants to be and that's where he's gone though and I think we've got a fair price for him. Yes it's disappointing for the fans because he is one of the better players, but there is no panic in my voice, there is no panic for me. Carlisle is not all about Michael Bridges, we've got other players at the football club who are doing the job for the club on the pitch. Yes it was frustrating that he had gone, it was slightly frustrating that I couldn't bring anybody in at the moment, I spoke to a few managers who said they were waiting for a few deals to go through and they couldn't do anything at the moment.
" So, it leaves us a little bit thin for Sunday of course, let's not forget the team is on a run though, the team is unbeaten in three games, the team is unbeaten at home and the team is full of confidence. As I say, it's not all about Michael Bridges, it's about the others as well, we'll be trying to strengthen as quickly as we possibly can, I've been on the phone late last night trying to get things fixed up knowing that Michael was going to go.
" That didn't materialise though, but we'll try and do it as soon as we can, we needed to strengthen the team even if Michael Bridges had still been here. That's still ongoing, unfortunately I couldn't do anything before the deadline, but we have a situation where after seven days we can use emergency loans so I'll be trying very hard to do that. "
