O's boss Martin Ling spoke to the official Orient website about his side's 0-0 draw at home to United this afternoon, Ling suggesting that his players put in an above average performance during the game :

"0-0 draws are either full of positives or full of negatives, and I think this one had more positives than negatives. After the debacles of Ipswich and Peterborough, I asked the players for a reaction and we got that. After the first 15 minutes, we were the better side and as a front six we did create.

"We had the better chances and if it was a boxing match we'd have edged it 60-40. I'm pleased because of where we've come from in terms of the last two performances, but obviously not ultra pleased because we haven't got three points.

"I said at half time that if (Stephen) Purches and (Aiden) Palmer stopped their wide boys at source - one had pace and one had aerial ability - then we'd have a good chance of winning the game. I thought the two full-backs answered the questions and that gave us the platform to be the more productive side after the break.

"It was a pleasing performance in the second half but not quite the icing on the cake. On the face of it it's an average start with one win, one draw and one defeat - but I think we've had two good performances and one bad. I'd say it was slightly above average because of the reaction we've got today, but we can't put in too many performances like we did at Peterborough - they have to be the exception rather than the rule."
