Glovers manager Russell Slade spoke to Yeovil's Official Website about his side's backs-to-the-wall 4-1 victory over United on Saturday, Slade talking about some good defending from his team :

"It was a very disappointing first half, that is for sure. We weren't at the races to be honest and I thought that we were very fortunate to win the football match. The catalyst to the second half performance were the words that were said at half time as Carlisle could have been three or four up. People decided to do their job in the second half, I didn't recognise them as my team in the first half, but they were in the second.

"All four goals were well taken, it was nice that the strikes we took we were ruthless with. They covered over a lot of cracks from the first period. We were very fortunate to only be one goal down at half-time. We changed after twenty minutes to 4-4-2 and that nearly got us through to half-time, but unfortunately we conceded a goal whilst Marcus Stewart was off the pitch.

"There was no organisation from the corner which resulted in Stewie's man not being picked up. That disappointed me, and that was the way we conceded the goal. Some of the defending in the second period was a complete contrast to the first, as it was quite heroic.

"Twenty-three corners were conceded during the game and some of the defending was excellent. Wayne Gray got his head on the ball, everybody was trying to get blocks in and get to the first header and make sure that we didn't concede a further goal. Steve Mildenhall was our best player.

"The most positive thing I can say about the game was the way we finished the goals off, the goals were really well taken. They didn't actually come from mistakes made by Carlisle, but were worked by ourselves from open play and of course the free kick was a tremendous ball in and really well attacked by Besty (Leon Best). At the end of the day it is all about scoring goals and we did that.

"You have to feel some sympathy for Carlisle. They will feel hard done by because the result flatters us, I've no qualms about saying that, but they paid for not putting the goals away in the first half. We know that when we are on song we can win football matches."
