United's 15-goal hot-shot Michael Bridges spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey this evening as he gave his thoughts on the Notts County victory. The ex-Leeds player also spoke about the great atmosphere around Brunton Park in the second-half :

" It's an absolutely massive three points. We knew what was expected before the game, we didn't put on a great performance today. One or two of us were a bit nervous, we knew how much was riding on it today. Thankfully though the board went up just after I scored to say three minutes left and we were 2-1 up, and it was just like a party atmosphere, it's been amazing.

" We got a roasting from the manager (Paul Simpson) at half-time and justifiably so because I didn't think we put on a great performance in the first-half, we were all over the shop and we looked a shambles. County came here and played five at the back, we thought they were going 4-4-2, but they played a five and were hard to break down.

" They must have been sickened to go in at half-time with a 1-1 though. I couldn't have scored two later goals in either half so it was absolutely fantastic. They went in shell-shocked and they came out and were a different team, we just kept battering them and our fitness showed, I would have been devastated though if I had been on the receiving end of that.

" For the second goal it ran away from Karl (Hawley). Initially it looked like he was going to turn and shoot, and that sucked in three defenders, I've just made a run off him and thankfully Karl has seen me and back-heeled it into my path. The goal wasn't a great goal, it was straight down the middle, the way Karl had laid it off, the goalkeeper (Kevin Pilkington) still thought he was going to shoot on it with his right foot. All credit to Karl, he has set me up and we've got the three points we deserved, I didn't know what the hell to do when I scored, I just ran off like a madman.

" To me this is massive, the support here today was absolutely fantastic. We meet up early doors, about 10.30am, to get food and I think people had been queueing down here since 9am. The atmosphere I thought was fantastic in the second-half and all credit to everybody who has come out on a Bank Holiday. We got the win that we deserved so hopefully they'll come back for the Torquay game because it means a lot to us. It's massive, hopefully we can get the top slot and it will be another medal for the collection, and there is no chance that would be it an anticlimax if we go up on Friday night. "
