City skipper Grant Holt spoke to the pink 'un after his side's 3-1 defeat at Brunton Park against Carlisle in the FA Cup, Holt suggesting the Canaries got what they deserved out of the game:

"We didn't play particularly well, we didn't start off well and we got what we deserved in the end. It's disappointing - we don't want to go anywhere and get beaten. It doesn't matter whether it's my home town or whatever.

"We're in the business at this football club of winning games. We want to win every one we're involved in. It hurts a bit more that we're here but we'll have to live and learn and move on to Tuesday.

"The league is the most important thing. It gives us a chance now to focus on the league. Southend is another hard test, very similar to Carlisle, and we've got to show more than we did here.

"Our goal was a good goal. We did well down the left, getting a couple of passes in and I was thankful to see it go in. It took us a while to get into it but we played well towards the end of the half.

"To come out in the second half and give a goal away that early on was disappointing when we'd worked so hard to get back in the game, but we never performed, we know that. We were off the ball, and it's something we'll sort out by Tuesday. It's disappointing but we'll move on."

Meanwhile City defender Adam Drury told the pink 'un :

"We didn't play well tonight, we know that, but in the previous games all the lads that have played have done very, very well. When you don't play well, then the gaffer (Paul Lambert) has got every right to change the team if he wants and if he chooses to do that on Tuesday, then he's got every right.

"We've set high, high standards for ourselves and we didn't reach them. That's why we've got to get back to those standards and the way we've been playing the previous games and get another run going.

"It was gutting. It wasn't the result we wanted and we didn't play particularly well. We went a goal down early, in both halves really, but then we came back well and in the first half I thought we controlled the game, especially towards the end of the half. Then in the second half we conceded early again and then we were chasing the game. We never really got going like we have been playing.

"But it's how we bounce back from this. That's the sign of a good side, if we bounce back on Tuesday. We've got to make sure it's a blip, a one-off, and it doesn't happen again, because - like I said - we've been on a great run and there is no reason why we shouldn't go straight back on another good run now."
