Iron boss Nigel Adkins
Newly appointed Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins spoke to The Scunthorpe Telegraph about the 2-0 win for the Iron at Brunton Park yesterday. Adkins talking about the great team spirit within the Glanford Park camp :

"I'm a very happy man. As I've said from the start it's an honour to have been put in this situation. The trick is now to try and maintain our current form and that is going to be the hardest thing. But that has been the situation all season and this was a great result for us.

"The players have got the confidence to go out and play football without worrying about making mistakes. It's just a shame there couldn't have been more of our supporters to actually appreciate how well we have played.

"We've come here, on a fantastic pitch, a nice big playing surface, and have showed we can play football. We've got great camaraderie, desire, team spirit and passion. We've been positive, and came here to win a game of football. We didn't come to draw, we came to win it.

"We identified that the run of games we had got was a daunting task and a challenging task. But, as we've said from day one, we've viewed them as opportunities to take points off teams who are going to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

"It's looking like Matt (Sparrow) has got a knee ligament problem. We'll have to fully diagnose it, but it doesn't look too clever at the moment. He could be out for some time, hopefully I'm wrong, but it's too early to say much at the moment. It's a massive blow because he's been awesome for us."
