"Murph"
United defender Peter Murphy spoke exclusively to BBC Radio Cumbria on Saturday evening as he gave a few thoughts on the romp against Chester and his own position in the team. He also spoke about a tough week in training and the reasons for it after the disappointment of Macclesfield :

" The whole of point today was coming back after the defeat last week because we were so disappointed that we let everybody down, ourselves, the fans, and everyone. Especially with the turnout that there was last week, we had a point to prove today and we proved it.

" We haven’t started quickly in the last few games and it was up to us to do that today. I think we did start well and it took them by surprise and we just kept that tempo going for the whole of the game. I’ve been saying for a while that centre-half is my best position, I’ve also said that I’m just happy to play. So if I’m needed for the team then I’m happy to go in wherever it is, but my favourite position is always centre-back.

" It’s been a punishing week in training for us. We let ourselves down in the last game and all the players and the fans who came to watch the game, so on the Monday morning it wasn’t acceptable. We set such high standards for ourselves as a team and as unit with everybody together. On the Monday when we came in we had a big, long run and two training sessions on the Tuesday, they were really physical training sessions as well. It was a punishment to show that if we are doing well then we enjoy the training sessions, if we don’t well, that was the worst we have played all season I think in the first-half, we get punished for it. We all agreed with it, we all did the training and felt better for it and it showed today.

" The team spirit was not just today, it’s been there the whole season and building up from the last two and a half years, even the season that we got relegated, in the second half of the season we did so well together as a team and as a unit. I think it’s just a build up of that, we’ve got a good squad, good players, everybody is enjoying their football, we’re top of the league now and you can’t help but enjoy football when you are winning.

" The whole thing is that we have stuck together as a team and I think that is what is showing in the results we are getting now. We’ve come up through the Conference and carried on winning this year so it’s everybody together. I don’t think they will be any added pressure going to Leyton Orient being top of the league, it’s just every game as it comes. They are going to be a good side, we know that it is going to be tough but I’d rather just think about enjoying this week of training and we’ll come to that when we get there. Hopefully training won’t be as hard as last week, last week was tough. "
