"September has not been a good month and things haven't happened for us. We will play a lot worse than that and win games and once we do I know we have a group of players that will get a string of results together. When we have created the chances we have not been able to take them.
"Keigan (Parker) had a great chance to win it at Doncaster on Saturday and last night we had a host of chances and there is a fine line about losing, drawing and winning football matches. And at the moment we can't just step over that line.
"It's a big game on Saturday because it's the next one. The games come thick and fast. If Leyton Orient had anyone at Carlisle last night they will have seen what a good team we are. I've said all along that I have faith in these players, I have faith in my ability as manager and we will get results.
"You know when you come into the job it's a precarious industry and there aren't many people that have the same job in football for 20-odd years. I know that and so do 91 other managers. But if we play as well as that, even half as well as that, we will win more games than we lose. I'm very proud of them tonight.
"I thought the front two did very well and I've said all along it's about competition for places. When you have Keigan and Andy (Morrell) on the bench you know you have good people to come on and Keigan was a handful. The fans were quality and they kept going and they have seen a performance that will give them heart.
"It has certainly given me heart and we are a good team and we will change it. One-nil would have been an absolute travesty but 2-0 just rubs salt into the wounds. This game has gone now and we have to prepare for Saturday. If we don't turn up, then we won't get the result we may deserve. The lads are very disappointed but confident in the way they have played. We have to be positive and stick together and get that win we need."
