Former United player Chris Lumsdon continued the recent discussion about possible new investment, or a takeover at the club, in his pre-match comments yesterday. “Fans are massive in this and…to the new people taking over” he said, adding to the speculation that a proposal is being discussed which could lead to changes in the boardroom.
Lumsdon said that he is aware of the plan, its intentions, who is involved and that it involves local businesses. He said that the club has been neglected for some time, with fans constantly raising “gripes” and pointing out problems. Meeting are progressing, he revealed, and he thinks that news will be released next week on their outcome, good or bad. He also urged the fans to be patient. He claimed that the plans would lead to “a good overhaul” at the club.
Lumsdon also said that the new plans would involve a better matchday event, not just the game. Fans could look forward to a community involvement with all welcome and all one.
Negotiations continue with the current people leading CUFC, as was confirmed by the board in a recent release on the official site.
