Brentford double goalscorer Jeffrey Schlupp spoke to his club's official website after his side's 2-1 home League One win over Carlisle, Schlupp saying he was buzzing throughout the day :
"It was a superb day, I was buzzing. It was great that we won, especially against Carlisle, who we play in the final. I found out I was playing two hours before the game and I was trying to keep my nerves in but I was buzzing, I really wanted to play, score goals and help us win. I had a few chances early on and the gaffer (Nicky Forster) and Mark Warburton said if I kept my head up I would get more. I did get it and I put it away. The second was on my right foot and I never really know what will happen when I swing my right foot. I hoped for the best.
"We played well tonight, especially in the first half, and we ground it out in the second. I thought we were the better side throughout. When I scored I looked around and everyone was running towards me. I couldn't believe it at first. I saw all the players coming so I thought I would run off to the corner and do a little dance. It was a great night - the fans here are crazy, they were all shouting for me. It was superb."
While Bees goalkeeper Simon Moore told his club's official website :
"It was a great performance. We played fantastic tonight and we are really pleased to get three points. I haven't started for a while but I prepare for every game as if I am playing. I'm disappointed for Richard (Lee) but now that I have my chance I will be doing everything I can to keep the shirt. I thought I did fine tonight considering I haven't played for a long time. There was a lot of pressure on me, coming in to the team and with Trevor (Carson) coming in, and he looks like a very good goalkeeper. It's now up to the manager (Nicky Forster) who plays in the upcoming games."
And centre-half Pim Balkestein told the official Brentford website :
"It was a tough game, it was open at stages of the first half, one end to the other and we had to do lots of recovering. In the second half they didn't have too many chances and Jeffrey scored a couple of amazing goals. We are very happy with the points. I was out with a groin injury - I popped it when doing some extra training - and I was concerned about tonight, when I did it last season it kept happening. I was glad to get through it and we have a big game against Sheffield Wednesday coming up so I hope I have done enough to keep my place."
