Brentford manager Uwe Rösler spoke to his club's official website following his side's 4-0 victory over Carlisle at Griffin Park, Rösler saying it was a top collective performance from the Bees :
"I would like to pay a compliment to all the players, I think it was a top collective performance, we forced them to make mistakes, they made a mistake for the first goal and we kept on top of them. We kept a high line in defence, which we didn't do against Colchester in the last ten or fifteen minutes and it cost us the game. Obviously, then with Saido (Berahino) coming on they were first-class finishes, but not only his finishing, his movement and his hold-up play was brilliant for such a young player.
"He came on because Gary Alexander got a big bang on his hip, which has swollen up and doesn't look very good. We have a number of players struggling, we had Richard Lee who asked to get out because he didn't feel very well and obviously Shaleum Logan who played on with problems in his groin because we didn't want to make all three substitutes by half-time, so we have to see where we are for the next game. I didn't need to say much to Simon Moore though when he came on because he is such a good young goalkeeper he knows what to do and I totally believe in him.
"I think we have to realise that we have to keep our feet on the ground, but that was a win, that was an impressive win and I think the players deserve all the credit for their performance. But, we can be very happy today and we should be very happy today, everybody involved and connected to Brentford Football Club, but from tomorrow on the preparation for Scunthorpe starts.
"We didn't do it the Italian way in the second-half, I think after the fourth goal we were still stealing forward and going for more goals. I think now the best defence for us is when we are attacking and not sitting back, because I don't think we are the best team at defending deep in and around our box, so then we are inviting pressure. That was very, very good from us, that was very brave from us to attack even when we were leading, and we forced them backwards and I was very happy.
"It was a little bit disappointing that there were not so many supporters today but when we had only won one game in nine that obviously is also our responsibility. In the last two home games we have got nine goals so I think the supporters can look forward to the end of the season. But, it was another good performance from us on SKY, we have had now three very good performances and our players have put themselves in the shop window. All credit to them, everything worked well today and hopefully the injuries and the knocks we have will not be that bad because we can't really afford to lose more players."
"Jonathan Douglas started in the diamond on the half-left and his job was always to be very energetic attacking and defending, and Sam (Saunders) was at the top of the diamond. I didn't want to change it because it was working so well, and even then when Carlisle went 4-4-2 and we had to match them up being a bit more flat in midfield Sam Saunders did centrally a very good job.
"I think it was very important in the end because we had only won one in nine, and I think everybody of course was a little bit devastated after Colchester when we were leading 1-0 nine minutes before the end and we couldn't bring the three points over the finish line. Everybody was a little bit down but that resulted today in a very good performance, and I know that my players can play very good football, they have shown that on a number of occasions.
"Obviously, the first goal helped but we forced them to make that mistake and that is all credit to us because we were on the front foot from the beginning. I think Carlisle are a good team, before today they were six points in front of us and they are a real contender for the play-offs. So, we had to accept in the first-half that they at some stage with such a good playing side that they have would get the ball and would pass the ball. But, I felt all the time that even when we were a little bit pushed back that we still had control, we didn't make any big mistakes in defence, which I was very happy with and obviously we looked very good on the counter.
"I think we know that we are good on the counter, occasionally we struggle when we have the ball all the time and have to be patient to break deep defences down. But, today we forced them into problems, we did the right things in each period of the game and even when we were leading 3-0 and 4-0 we still went forward and tried to score more goals, which I think at the moment is the best way for us to keep opponents away from our goal, to attack.
"Scunthorpe now on Saturday is a very, very big game for us and they are a physical side, I saw them against Leyton Orient and I could see both their sides, they played brilliantly in the second-half but I also saw how they vulnerable they could be in the first-half. So, I think with their players it will be a very physical game and we have to prepare ourselves for that."
