Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson spoke to BBC Radio Sheffield and his club's official website after his side's 3-2 League One defeat against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Wilson bemoaning some bad luck for the Blades :
"We have played very well and how we have lost the game there I don't know, with hitting the post on three occasions and the keeper (Adam Collin) etc. We felt a bit aggrieved that the second goal that we had against us was two or three yards offside but listen, it is one of those days were it does happen. I think they will have to put a new lick of paint on the post I think, it is fair to say that it came to their rescue.
"Lady Luck wasn't on our side today, I don't know how two of them stayed out to be quite honest, the angle that the ball went in at they normally go in the net, but they came out of the other side and that is the fortune that you have sometimes. But, we were well prepared for it, we were not expecting it but we are prepared for it for when we move into the next game, you have got to think sometimes that it will be around the corner. But, disappointed in how we did it because I think we played well enough to get something certainly out of the game, if not win it.
"The conditions as well, you have got to take those into consideration as well, they were very, very strong winds and second half when the wind was in our faces I thought we played very, very well at times, some of the football was great with taking that into consideration. But, the disappointment is that we lost two goals in the first half when we had the wind at our backs, but I have to say that the second goal was very, very dubious. They will argue that it wasn't offside, but it was because we have seen it.
"They could have had a man (Matty Robson) sent off, infact they should have had a man sent off for the tackle which was on Ched Evans. It was a horrendous tackle and seeing that again it deserved more than a yellow card, you say that you don't want people sent off but that was just reckless, completely reckless, he could have put him in hospital, but thankfully he didn't. So, they have had a lot of luck on their side today, but they have had some good play, they stuck in which you can't knock them for, but on the other side of it we can always turn round and say that they have been quite fortunate in some situations today."
"There is an argument there for the first goal as well, we saw a free-kick right at the death when a foot went up and somebody's head went down for James Beattie, and Harry (Maguire) does the same and the free-kick is not given. So, this is what we have talked about with the inconsistencies, just be quite consistent in what you are doing, I am not saying that cost us anything but it is a free-kick, and if you play abroad or anywhere else that is a free-kick. But, here there is very much a grey area in that respect and the foot that comes up near the head in my opinion is a free-kick and unfortunately Harry didn't get it.
"I think from where we are standing it is never easy to digest because it always disappointing. But, I think the fact that we take a lot of satisfaction from lots of areas of our play today then we won't be disappointed for too long. I think we can get back on that horse as quick as we can and get those wins back under our belt again because there is not a lot wrong. We didn't do a great deal wrong today, and I always think you look at the reactions of fans at times, you could hear the breath of sigh of relief from their point of view. But, listen, it may happen to us at some stage where we are maybe not winning the game and we get a drop of luck that helps us. So, let's just hope that that comes along when it is much needed.
"Ched Evans has been playing like that for weeks now hasn't he, and he is so hot to handle, the defenders are having a real problem with him whoever we are playing. You look at some of the defenders they have got at Carlisle, they are good defenders, the centre-backs in particular (Lubomir Michalik and Peter Murphy) are particularly strong. But, he is really bang in form at the moment and very difficult to tie down, and every time we got the ball as a supporter I suppose you are on the edge of your seat because you think he is going to score.
"Matty Lowton has got a slight hamstring strain so we are hoping that he will be available next week, we could not play him today, very sore at this moment in time but we are hoping by the Salisbury game he might be included in the squad. (Ryan) Flynn got a whack on the ankle, and again his display was fantastic as well today, very committed but he got a whack on the ankle which made it very difficult for him to carry on. It was a very physical game today but we stood up to it very well, and that is what is going to happen, some teams are going to do that to us to try to stop us from playing."
