" I'm extremely proud. The team were great, the fans and the team were in unison tonight because the fans were absolutely magnificent tonight. It was a bit of a battle in the first 20 minutes and they could have scored a goal against us but the game was ours once we scored that first goal.
" When Murph (Peter Murphy) got that second one just before half-time it was a great time to score and a great goal. It was a lovely feeling through the second-half because we weren't hanging on, we were always looking for another goal. We deserved another couple, they didn't come but it didn't matter because the party atmosphere here is superb.
" Doc (John Haworth) said when the final whistle blew to remember Stoke and enjoy it because these moments don't come very often, but we've had two in two years, it's just unbelievable. It's great for Paul Simpson because Paul has been the inspiration of this, he's put a great team out on the park.
" The fans are just tremendous though, it would have been nice to do it at Brunton Park but with the hardcore away fans all standing together and all singing together the atmosphere they gave was amazing. You could see that the players just didn't want to come off the park at the end, they just wanted to take the applause, they loved it and so they should.
" We seem to have football fans with brains don't we. On Saturday I thought they were fantastic because when they ran across to greet the Torquay fans and they applauded each other, that for me was a great moment because they've let themselves down in the past when we've lost at home. On Saturday they were absolutely magnificent, they lost the game but they still had the decency to go and recognise the Torquay performance and applaud the fans, I think the supporters have been just superb this year.
" I just hope we can keep the hunger we had tonight, because they were obviously up for it. Ziggy (Zigor Aranalde) had a great game and Murph had a great game, there were a lot of good performances out there tonight. You could tell that they really wanted to do the job here tonight, it might be hard for them to do that at Stockport, you don't know. Let's hope they do and send the fans home they way they sent home tonight, because there will be some happy lads going up that M6 tonight.
" We've got to keep it going, we're building a solid base here, we aren't doing it to be like a threepenny rocket and come back down. Simmo (Paul Simpson) wants success, all the board wants success, the fans and everybody wants success at Carlisle. We've deserved it for long enough, I think we're earning it now. "
