Cherries manager Eddie Howe spoke to BBC Radio Solent after his side's 4-2 League One win over Carlisle at Brunton Park, Howe saying the visitors played some good stuff in patches:
"We weren't at our best today but we showed a great attitude to the game, in patches we played some good stuff. We scored four really good goals, disappointed to have conceded two but we are gaining momentum hopefully. Two tough away games and we have got four points, we have got to be pleased with that.
"At one stage I think when we got the fourth goal for a five or ten minute period we were looking really confident and looking like we could score every time we went forward. But, we will take what we have got, I can't be too greedy or in any way critical of the players, they have given everything again and since we have come I have to say they have responded brilliantly. Full credit to them because this isn't an easy place to come, I don't think I ever won here as a player and as a manager I don't think I have done great here either, so it is great to win here and it is a tough ground.
"They got a goal back to make it 4-2 and then suddenly you are at a 2-0 scoreline and everybody knows that with a two goal deficit anything can happen, they only need another goal and suddenly we are backs to the wall. So, yeah, if we had got a fifth it would have been happy days and we would have seen the game out fine. But, we did really well at times going forward, like a real threat with our front two and Marc Pugh obviously who took his goals really well. That is really pleasing, I think you look at our goal return in the last few games and it has been excellent.
"We have just been working on trying to be a little bit more positive with our passing, trying to get our full-backs overlapping, be a little bit more progressive with our passing. It has worked at the moment, the lads have taken their goals really well today, hopefully that continues. But, we all know football is a tough game, we go now to the FA Cup which is a nice distraction for us and we go into it with a two week break in terms of our league games and with three wins out of four.
"There is still defensive work to do, we seem to have been involved in high-scoring games this season for whatever reason. Yeah, we like to set teams up to win games but we want to defend better than we have, I don't think they have had too many chances today and they scored two scruffy goals from our perspective, but we have scored four and we have won the game. Going forward we go away from here knowing there are little things that we can work on to become a better team, but I think most of the teams in the division will be looking round at us and thinking Bournemouth are coming at us.
"You look at the games we have played recently, before the Tranmere game you would say league leaders, Notts County away who are flying and Carlisle is always a tough game away, and we have got seven points from those three games. So, it is an excellent return, and full credit to the players for that because the travelling that we have done this week, although we flew up yesterday, it has not been easy either, so they deserve a pat on the back for that.
"Coming in from the outside as I was you need to understand, or try to work out why the team is struggling because on paper it looks like a good squad. We just tried to get a good spirit like we always try to do and get the players fighting for each other. I have to say you get a feeling before games in the changing room, I have got a really good group of players who want to win, want to do well and that is half the battle. I have to say that the changing room since I have been here has been very good."
