"It was a very good victory for us and I am delighted to come away with the three points. It was never going to be an easy game, but I think we did enough overall to win it. If we are going to be successful this year then we have to give ourselves the best chance of winning games.
"That was a tough game today. Carlisle play some good football and they have got a lot of spirit. But we have also got spirit and to go behind and come back from that is pleasing. I thought we looked comfortable when we took the lead, although I know from my own personal experience of managing here (Brunton Park) that last minute goals are possible.
"Matty (Fryatt) has taken the headlines in recent weeks, but we have got a number of players now who have chipped in with goals. Lloyd (Dyer) has got eight and Andy King has now got seven to his name following his goal today. Matty has been taking the headlines, as you would expect because of the two hat-tricks.
"But, over the course of the season, we will have to score goals from all through the team if we are to be successful. We can't expect Matty to score every time. My biggest concern is just for us to be successful and do whatever it takes. I know Matty is feeling very confident and goes into every game thinking he can score.
"In the end it was a very good win for us and I am delighted that we have kept our place at the top of the table. But it is only one game out of 46 and there is still a long way to go. Carlisle made it very difficult for us and they played some good football. But, in the end, I don't think there was any question that we were good value for the win and I am pleased that we have stayed top of the table.
"I am always confident of what we can achieve but I am always very wary of complacency. We are in a good position but we are not yet halfway through the season. Having said that, we have a strong squad full of players who want success."
