Hull manager Phil Brown spoke to his club's official website after his side's 2-1 pre-season friendly win at Brunton Park tonight, Brown disappointed with some poor defending on the flanks from the Tigers :
"We've come away with a win. It was a work-out for us with the lads getting 45 minutes. It wasn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination but we've still got nearly four weeks to go (until the start of the season). I thought Carlisle's fitness levels were better than ours and I thought their desire was better than ours and that showed.
"They put too many balls into our penalty box and there is a lot of work to do. I get so frustrated with pre-season friendlies because it's almost like reserve team football. You play tip-tap football in your own half for 45 passes and then give the ball away and offer the opposition a chance. That won't be anything like the Chelsea game."
