U's skipper Kemal Izzet spoke to the Colchester Daily Gazette after his side's 4-1 defeat against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Izzet saying the visitors shouldn't have looked as lethargic as they did :
“At the moment, I’m a little bit dumbfounded by our performance. For the first time this season I can honestly say that we were found wanting but we will put this to one side as quickly as possible. We looked lethargic and we shouldn’t have been, because we did everything right coming up to Carlisle two days before (the match). We didn’t stay with our runners and when we did get in the final third we weren’t clinical enough and we weren’t sharp enough. We looked lethargic and it was a really bad day at the office.
“Unless we defend better all over the pitch we’ll get beaten like we did and I feel sorry for the people who actually travelled to watch that. Credit to Carlisle because they played well but we definitely contributed to their performance, that’s for sure. There’s not been too many of them this season so we’ll put that one down to experience and we’ll move on as quickly as possible.”
