MK Dons midfielder turned centre-half Shaun Williams spoke to his club's official website after his side's 2-1 League One defeat at home to Carlisle, Williams understandbly 'gutted' with the result :
"Words can't describe how I am feeling at the moment, just gutted. I think we got a bit of luck with their first penalty, I don't think it was a penalty, it hit Jabo (Ibehre) on the hand but it wasn't intentional. But, obviously he (Lee Miller) has missed and we rode our luck a little bit there. Then we have gone 1-0 up and I thought we felt really comfortable in the game, had a lot of chances but just fell away at the end.
"I think in the second half we always play better going down into our own fans, but we didn't really do too much wrong in the first half. Obviously, didn't score but they didn't have any chances in the first half, which is good from the defensive side, just going forward we just needed to be more clinical.
"Mathias (Kouo-Doumbe) has come in and he has done brilliantly at right-back or centre-half and he is an experienced defender so he will definitely be one missed through injury now. Chaddy (Luke Chadwick) and Bowds (Dean Bowditch) have also picked up knocks so we are at the bare bones at the moment coming towards the end of the season.
"I think Tom Flanagan is going to be a fantastic centre-half though, he is only 19 or 20 now so he can only get better and he has really put his mark down on his starting place this year. I am not a centre-half myself, I am a midfielder playing at the back, I don't want to get into the mould where I am the centre-half and I can play in midfield. I want to be in midfield but if I can't be there anywhere on the pitch will do me once I am playing."
"It was half-time at Wycombe when we talked about the next penalty, obviously Jay (O'Shea) has missed his and Lewi (Dean Lewington) asked at half-time who wanted the next one, straight away I said I would have it knowing I was confident enough to say I think I should have it. We practiced penalties in training funnily enough yesterday, well not practiced, we just had a penalty shootout at the end and I felt quite confident. But, then again tonight in front of all the fans it was a bit nerve-wracking because I had to wait.
"The keeper (Adam Collin) was quite big so I needed to put it high and away from him, luckily enough it went in and he went the other way. I was quite nervous taking it this evening because there was a long, long wait as well because there was a bit of aggro at the edge of the box. So, I wasn't too happy with that and the keeper was trying to put me off saying stuff and that.
"I think everyone needs to lift their head up after tonight and just push to the end of the season, get as many points as we can and bring good form into the play-offs. Hopefully we make it and push forward and get into the Championship. The gaffer (Karl Robinson) just wants us to play the way he sets us out to and we have never shyed away from that.
"It is just the other side of the game with the opposition that we have to tighten up a bit at the back and not concede. Hopefully get a few more clean sheets and steady ourselves over the line. A lot of the lads are hungry, young players and they want to play at the highest level they can, if it is with MK or whoever. But, hopefully we can get promoted with this group and push on and do well for the club.
"I think one Tuesday a while back when the Champions League was on we had the lowest crowd that the stadium has seen, so I was glad that enough people came out tonight and supported us. It was disappointing with the result but if they come again on Saturday we will put it right. When things are down or even up the fans on our back pushing us along and it is just that extra added boost of adrenaline that you need."
