" We had the control of the game, Carlisle had no real threat I didn't think, they might have nicked one here or there but that is all they did. We deserved our clean sheet but we didn't do enough with the ball, on Tuesday we were excellent and we moved the ball quickly, we moved it sharp and we got in behind them (Bournemouth).
" Today I don't think worked particularly well, we struggled to get in behind Carlisle, particularly early on, our crosses were in front of to an already set midfield. It fell into a little bit of a pattern where the game ran away from us in the second-half. While we had control and people like (Ali) Fuseini, Jack Smith and (Andy) Frampton were pretty good at winning the ball back in that area, once we had it we didn't move it quickly enough.
" We didn't have enough of a threat and we lacked the ability, not necessarily the formation or the personnel, to get behind Carlisle. We didn't either slide balls down the side, I am not talking about great big balls from the back, but to slide in balls down the side. Somebody to take somebody on and go past people. We needed to perhaps score the perfect goal and combination of football, which we did on Tuesday night, we scored some perfect goals.
" It doesn't happen volume-wise though, it doesn't happen, and playing in front of the opposition and getting your selection right has to be 100%. We needed to sling some people across the front line and actually test their defenders out rather than just playing in front of them. Combinations of up, back and through, one v one situations in wide areas, those things, moving the ball, moving the ball quickly.
" Those are the things that we needed today and I felt that we sadly lacked in the second-half. We hit the post and we hit the bar, and we had enough chances definitely. I still feel that today we can do a lot better than we did, certainly in possession. While the zero against, it is funny how it works out, we have got defenders out injured and we are sort of looking at our defence so far in this season, and people like Jack Smith who has come in, he hasn't put a foot wrong."
