O's manager Russell Slade spoke to BBC Radio London 94.9 and his club's official website after his side's 1-0 League One win over Carlisle at Brunton Park, Slade saying the result leaves Orient still in there fighting to get into the play-off spots come the end of the season :
"We are delighted, we want to try to take it to the last game of the season if we possibly can, and we knew to do that really we needed three points again today. I know one or two of our rivals have gone down but those Cherries (Bournemouth) have still picked up three points haven't they, so that has killed us a little bit. But, look, we are still in there, we are still pitching, we are still fighting and that was the sort of performance we got as well. We were fighting, we showed good spirit because we were playing against a good side who for long periods in the first-half dominated us.
"When the game is on I'm obviously not thinking about other results, but at half-time we knew what the situation was, we knew how important it was to protect our goal and that is exactly what we did. We looked a threat, much more of a threat actually in the second period and possibly could have got a second goal which would have made life a little more comfortable for us in those dying minutes.
"We were turning the ball over, giving it away, and the turnover of the ball led to the penalty, which was disappointing from our point of view. But Butch (Lee Butcher) did fantastically to keep us in the game, and who knows how important that save might be. He did really well and to come in at short notice - Jonesy (Jamie Jones) had a fitness test in the morning - he did magnificently. We have no qualms about throwing him in.
"I'm really pleased for Jonathan (Tehoue) too. He's scored all his goals from the bench before, but not today and we needed him today. It was a great finish and I thought he worked really, really hard. He nearly got himself a second and we were pleased with what he put in. It was a great effort by him today."
"Two games and two wins is what we need now, it will be a walk in the park going home now on the bus, it will be fantastic. So, we have got Tranmere on Saturday and then of course our last game is away to Plymouth. So, no games are easy and we are Leyton Orient, we can get beat by anybody, but we have got such great spirit honestly, and the attitude of the players, never, never die attitude has been superb, and that is why we are still in there pitching.
""It was a phenomenal effort, we were completely patched up. Today Scott McGleish wasn't fit, he was struggling with a back problem from Friday but he has gone on the bench with a view to playing 15 or 20 minutes, (Ryan) Jarvis is not 100% either but he goes on the bench. We lost Jamie Jones of course, (Paul-Jose) Mpoku's still not back and the likes of (Ben) Chorley, (Alex) Revell and (Jimmy) Smith are out.
"We have lost (Andrew) Whing today, his wife has given birth bless her, and he has been at the hospital with her today, there has been a few complications there. I have had Coxy (Dean Cox) who was sick overnight but he has played over 80 minutes, but it is great, they are just great to work with and if they have got anything they will tell you they have got it in the tank and we just all stick together as a group and work very hard for each other and very hard for the cause. The cause of course is trying to get us into that top six.
"Can you believe it though? The last home game of the season we have got Tranmere, all our fans will be behind us willing the ball into the net to try to get into competing for the top six. I just think that it rounds off what has been a memorable season, a good season, good to be part of and hopefully every Orient fan is absolutely proud of what has happened this year."
