SladeLeyton Orient manager Russell Slade spoke to BBC Radio London 94.9 and his club's official website after his side's 2-1 League One defeat at home to Carlisle, Slade understandably disappointed after the O's had gone 1-0 up :

"Well I thought for 60 minutes to be honest that even though it was a tight game I thought we were in control, we worked really hard to get ourselves in the driving seat and looked nice and solid, didn't look in any danger of losing the game. I thought we deserved the goal, and then it was three or four minutes after that, we were OK as soon as we scored but for the last kind of like 25 minutes we have turned the ball over so rapidly and that is what we have just been looking at, ridiculously poor. We have not kept it well enough, we have not had the authority on the ball that we should have had when we had gone in front.

"For the winner, another free-kick, it has to be 40 plus yards out, he (Matty Robson) has hit the bar, he (David Button) has made a great second save, they have reacted quicker than we have and they have punished us, we have got to deal with the second phase there. Their first goal, we have allowed the cross to come in, and that was too easy, and the marking in the box was poor.

"I actually think they have probably come for a point today looking at the way they set up and they have mugged us and gone home with three points, so it is really disappointing. It's a question of know-how, of getting in front and knowing how to win a game, close it out. Although they didn't create too much the fact is we gave them every opportunity to come back at us and get a goal by getting in our half and us giving the ball away cheaply.

"Confidence will always be an issue when you are losing football matches but that is my job to build it up again, and we have only a few days to wait before we go into cup duty. We will be back, I thought having been beaten 5-0 last week it was a good response from the players in a tight game, but it was a good attitude, worked very hard to get in front and should have stayed there. But, that will be disappointing, they will be hurt, they are a team that care and they will be looking to bounce back as soon as they possibly can.

"It probably is the most frustrating defeat because we've been in front in this one. I thought we made a good start to the game, we were nice and solid and closing down better than we had done in recent games. The game was there to be won. Every game now becomes even more important in a sense because you are searching for wins, you are searching for fluency, you are searching for rhythm, I am searching for the best team or the fittest team that we can possibly put out in an effort to get a result. Bristol Rovers are the next team up and it is important for us that we react again."
