North End assistant manager Glynn Snodin spoke to his club's official website after his side's 1-1 League One draw against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Snodin disappointed that the Lilywhites only picked up a point from the game:
“We are very disappointed not to take all three points because we thought we controlled the game from the first whistle. We were disappointed coming in level at half-time, we had three good chances probably in the first-half so we are disappointed we have only come away with a point today. Jeffrey Monakana took his goal well to be fair, a good little move and a great finish from Jeff. That is what we want Jeff to do, make sure we have got him out there for 90 minutes and he starts producing for us, not only just scoring goals but he can create goals for us as well.
“There was some good moves out there today, it was a nice pitch to play on, there is plenty of grass on it to what we have been playing on. I thought the lads produced some good stuff today, not only from set-plays but in general play. But, I thought Carlisle looked dangerous with every corner they put in and also the free-kicks, I know Thorsten Stuckmann got a hand to their goal and they followed it in well, but that was the only way I could see them scoring today.
“We were disappointed with coming in at half-time at 1-1 and so were the lads, they just couldn’t believe it. So, we just said to turn them a bit more because again the wind and the conditions played a big part, we wanted to turn them behind and squeeze them up and then go and create chances in there.
“I don’t think the referee (Andy Madley) saw totally what happened on Nicky Wroe’s first yellow card, by the time he had turned round he just saw Nicky and the lad (Liam Noble) face to face. The lad (Noble) has got hold of his shorts and he is trying to get away so I thought he was a bit unlucky for the first one. The second one he has caught him so you think yeah, he has to be off. But, we thought the lad (James Berrett) should have been sent off in the first-half, he has kicked out at Mous (John Mousinho), it wasn’t a little tap, he really has kicked out at him.
“I thought we were the only side who was going to get a second goal after the sending-off. The lads today have been different class, because everybody thinks we are safe now and that we would take our foot off the pedal but no, that is what we said to them in the changing room. We don’t take the foot off the pedal, we keep going and that is what they have done. They have created chances, they have had a go and they wanted to win this game today.
“We have been delighted with the defence lately because if you keep clean sheets or keep it down to a goal then you have got a chance of getting points, and especially three points. So, like we have done at home, we have won 2-0 and 3-0, and you have got a great chance and the back five with the goalkeeper as well have been outstanding as well. But, also the lads in front of them , it all starts from the front at times and when you have got Jack King, Joe Garner and Stuart Beavon who has been up there, they work hard. As well as that the midfield lads, they stop the ball from getting up there.”
