Lee Clark
Town boss Lee Clark spoke to the assembled press after his side's 1-1 draw at home to Carlisle, Clark suggesting that the Terriers weren't at their best in the game :

"It was probably a fair result. We weren't at our best at all, it was a disappointing performance. You get yourselves ahead then you get done by someone not staying with their runner, allowing the cross to come in.

"We could have won it, but we could also have lost it. You want to win all your home games, and while a point is better than none, it's frustrating. We'll have to go to Brighton and get a result now and my players have to be better. If you want to be a top player, you have to realise the opposition will try and stop you and be good enough to combat that.

"But I still believe in the players I've got, and when we start firing on all cylinders, it will happen. Three or four have been up and down, but I'm not going to name any names. We win together, we lose together - and we draw together.

"I thought Dean (Heffernan) showed he has good energy and fitness levels. Nathan (Eccleston) showed the awareness and speed he has. Neal (Trotman) wasn't as dominant as he was at Yeovil, but that was the team in general."

"The whole team played with a bit of nervousness which I don't understand. Playing in front of big crowds is the only way to go. I want the fans to keep expectations high - players have to handle it. They should embrace the pressure and enjoy it.

"There will be more games like today and last week at Yeovil, scrappy games won by odd goals. That's more likely to happen between now and the end of the season than the fours and fives. Teams have seen what happened earlier on and they are setting out to partly spoil things and it gives us a new sort of challenge and one that we have to meet.

"I certainly believe we have a good squad and good players who are not even in the 18. That should be able to get us through the end of the season. Individuals have got to be ready because I am sure everyone will be used.

"You never say never about automatic promotion but maybe the top two are a bit far away but we are quite well placed and we have a run of games this month where we can accumulate a good number of points and hopefully put the pressure on those above us. This run of games will give a clearer indication of where ultimately we will be at the end of the season - it is a really important month."

Meanwhile Town goalscorer Anthony Pilkington commented :

"We have to do better as a team and I have to do better individually. I have to accept a lot of the responsibility, because I should have cut out the cross that led to their goal. We failed to take the three points from this game and there's nothing we can do about it now. But we can go to Brighton and win, and that's very much the intention.

"We started too slowly. We're not happy with that and we're certainly not happy at drawing after going ahead. You could say we had a bad day at the office, but there's been too many of them, and we have to hit back quick. It's good that we have another game so soon, and this is a big, big spell, because with four successive Tuesday night games coming up, we have a great opportunity to climb the table.

"The lads showed down at Yeovil that we can make the long trips and win, so why not do the same at Brighton? I don't get many goals with my head, and it was nice to see it go in. I had another good chance near the end as well, and really I should have put it away to clinch a win."
