New Bees boss Scott Fitzgerald spoke to Brentford's Official Website about his side's 2-0 defeat against the Blues yesterday, Fitzgerald talking about the need to bring some new players into the club in the January transfer window :

"I thought the disallowed goal was a valid goal - I spoke to the referee and he deemed that Matt Heywood had interfered with play. Until we see it on the video I don't know, but it's not going to change anything. Nobody touched Cox's free kick. Matty's made a run and the linesman flagged and said he had interfered with play. We were told that nobody touched the ball so it should be a goal but there's nothing we can do about it now. I'm very disappointed.

"Their first goal came from a corner. Everyone's designated people to mark and someone's not gone with their man. The second goal I think their centre half headed the ball far too easily and put them straight back on the attack again. Take the two goals out if it and Clark didn't have a save to make.

"I felt all our chances came from long range shots, until Calum (Willock) had a shot near the end and Charlie (Ide) had gone round the keeper earlier. We are creating chances every single week. For the last three weeks we have created more chances than the other side but we have not been able to take them.

"How do we fix it? Well we get them back into training, work harder at it and try and get the boys confidence up in front of goal. The hardest thing in football is to score goals. I'm delighted with the way the midfield and defence is playing. You look at the goals against column and we have conceded again today but we just need to score first to give us something to hang onto.

"Strikers are on the list [of players to bring in]. We've got plenty of targets in mind. Not just strikers but in all positions. Win, lose or draw today they were already in place and there are people we want to get in. It won't be hard to get everyone up for Tuesday. We've already started preparing, that started when the final whistle went. Everyone talks about Millwall being a six pointer but it's not, it's three points just like it was today.

"It was fantastic support from those that came up. We could hear them all the way through the game. For them to stand up and clap us off at the end after losing 0-2 away to Carlisle just speaks volumes. And we need those people behind us.

"Charlie Ide had cramp and yes I expect him to play on Boxing Day. Andy Frampton's shoulder is not getting any better. There's no time to rest it. Lloyd Owusu needs another operation. It's a stress fracture of his groin or his hip and he's got a problem with his hernia as well. So that's going to be dealt with in the next week. He's going to see another specialist.

"Stuart Nelson is in an air-cast boot and should be out of it on 4th January and then go and see the specialist. We'll hopefully get the new players in as quickly as possible but I don't think we can register them in time for 1st January and Swansea."
