ChippAccrington frontman Aidan Chippendale spoke to his club's official website after his side's 1-0 Capital One Cup defeat against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Chippendale saying that the Reds didn't take their chances in the game:

"We are all down because we played well, especially in the second-half we created stuff but it just wasn't our day, we couldn't get the ball in the back of the net. Obviously, we have lost so the lads are disappointed, there isn't a game whether you play well or bad, it never goes down well, you don't like losing, it is part of the game isn't it, hate losing.

"I thought in the second-half particularly we were on top a lot, and in the first-half we looked solid at the back, their goal should never have really come about because it was quite a sloppy goal to give away. We worked their keeper (Adam Collin) a couple of times but not near enough as what we should have done really. The decisions in the final third I thought could have been a bit better, so it is all to improve on for next week and we need to get our heads on Southend now, onto the next one.

"It is our decision making basically, in the last third we were making decisions a bit rash really, just rushing our decisions where if we don't then we score, so it is as simple as that really. I nearly scored a couple of goals myself, I like to shoot so hopefully I will nick a couple in the season. But, today just wasn't my afternoon, the keeper pulled off a great save and one of them just came wide, so that is how it goes sometimes.

"If we had scored then then the game changes, goals change games, we could be here taking penalties couldn't we or we could be through, you never know, I don't have a crystal ball. I thought myself I was quiet in the first-half but in the second-half I got on the ball quite a bit and I thought I affected the game, just my decision making at times. But, I had a few decent strikes and a couple of decent balls into the box, which I am happy with.

"It was always going to happen that we were going to come out well after half-time, because in the first-half we didn't get the ball down and play as much as we would have liked. We did play, don't get me wrong, but the way we like to play we like to play passing, that is what the gaffer (Paul Cook) likes and we didn't do it as much as we would have liked. So, in the second-half we made sure it was going to happen. Next week now at Southend all we want is three points, we will go there and get three points, that is all we want."
