" It's been a long time, obviously my last goal was October against Chester but it was a great feeling to get the goal and the main thing was that the team won. I get a firm head onto it, I can't remember who put the ball in to be honest but I got a firm header onto it and it's going towards the bottom corner. I thought, to be honest I thought that he'd saved it but then I've seen it trickle under him and it was the probably best feeling I've had in a long time.
" Obviously I ran off like I don't know what, I couldn't remember how to celebrate and I ran over to the bench and I was pleased when everyone joined in. All the players ran over to celebrate with me which is pleasing, we've been having crack for the last three months about when I was going to get this goal but now it has all gone to bed. It was great, the fans were brilliant and I'm pleased I got that goal but more importantly we've got the three points and we're back right in the mix of things now.
" We certainly need to do something about the away record, I think everyone in the camp knows that and we are working hard on the training ground to try to sort out the away form which has been very disappointing. The home form has been tremendous over the course of the season and ten straight wins on the bounce is brilliant. We need to go to Port Vale now on the back of a home win and hopefully pick up another three points and try to sort that away form out. "
Meanwhile, Carlisle new boys Cleveland Taylor and Evan Horwood also talked to BBC Radio Cumbria about making their debuts in United colours, right-winger Taylor first commenting :
" It's been a while but it's good to get out there, it's a great win for the boys and it's a great record, it's always good to break records and hopefully we can continue that. I think when you are up there you need that spirit because that shows that we have got great character in the team. If we go 1-0 down we show that we can bounce back, a lot of teams will look at that and think that we are a tough nut to crack.
" I enjoyed it, you might think that I am joking but I actually did enjoy it, it's good to be out there. It's been a while, I've not played for a while but it's just good to be out there. You can only get match-fit from playing games, obviously two or three games and you should be looking somewhere near your peak. Obviously we're athletes so it shouldn't take us as long as others to get up there, hopefully two or three games and we should be back at our peak.
" I didn't know that Danny Graham hadn't scored for so long, I've just been here for a couple of days and Danny has been fantastic. He's a big striker and he came on and he showed everybody what he can do. Obviously he hadn't scored in 20 games but that means nothing, he scored today and that's the main thing that matters. We're in there, we've got to stay up there, today sends out a warning to the rest of the clubs that we are up there and we are going to fight to the end. "
While left-back Horwood said :
" It was alright, I struggled a bit in the first-half with (Kevin) Betsy playing against me who had just come on loan, I enjoyed it. I got three or four knocks in the first-half, I came off at half-time and I could hardly walk, I got started again in the second-half and then I was OK to get through it. I didn't feel like I got stronger in the second-half, I felt like I was towing a caravan near the end. I was cramping up and I had dead legs, I enjoyed my debut and I'm over the moon with the three points.
" It's brilliant, the fans were brilliant and I'm just looking forward to the next game now on Saturday against Port Vale away. I was just happy to get back playing first-team football again, obviously I haven't played the last few games and my fitness showed a bit, it felt like it did anyway although I don't know how it came across to you. The Gretna lads were here watching me, they didn't have a game this weekend so they all came over and it was a brilliant day. "
