Colchester right-back Brian Wilson spoke to BBC Radio Essex after his side's 1-1 League One draw at home to Carlisle, Wilson ruing a recent run of drawn matches for the U's :
"The last few games we have been disappointed, we have drawn too many, I think over the last five games we drew we deserved to win at least two or three of them, and that would have put us right up there. But, unfortunately today we couldn't hold on to our lead and it has killed us a little bit.
"They are good sides but we still should be taking points off them, we are a good side ourselves so let's not kid ourselves, but the lads today are very disappointed that we didn't hold on to those three points. We have played some good football in the last few games and we have tested the likes of Huddersfield and Charlton. We have done well in the last few weeks and we should be proud of ourselves, but with the results we have drawn too many games and it has been our downfall lately.
"It was clever play by Steven Gillespie and Martin Rowlands for the goal, I didn't think he would get through as easily as that but he took his finish really well. Their goal was similar to ours really, we just couldn't hold on to it. Unfortunately Rowlands had to go off with his groin injury again which was a bit of a killer really as well. He is exceptional, he has played in the Premier League, he has played in vital games like that so he knows what needs to be done, and anyone like Rowly is a big loss to us.
"Carlisle never really threatened us, they had a shot on goal in the first-half and we looked solid. But, it was a lackadaisical mistake and they have got in and it has cost us. It was their deep midfield runner (James Berrett) where we just didn't track the midfield runner and the striker (Lee Miller) has got a little nick around the corner and he has gone through too easily, we didn't pick him up. They played five across the midfield and they tried to shut up shop, but it was the midfield runner from deep and that was the only way I could ever see them getting through, but they got through and it has knocked us back a little bit.
"There are eight games left and we are still going to push, we are capable of winning all those games so we have got to stay positive. We need a little bit of luck, we need teams to drop points as well on the way. It is not over until the end of the season, it could go all the way and we are going to keep plugging away and give it a right good go."
