Bowman Back With The Reds

The 18-year old frontman having spent six weeks with the Reds on loan last season over February and March of this year in which he made five starts, five substitute appearances and scored two goals. Bowman then coming back to Brunton Park to feature as a substitute for an injury ravaged Carlisle side to the end of the season.

After signing a one-year professional contract in the summer following the completion of his YTS deal, Bowman has yet to feature for the Blues at first-team level this season. Ryan's next task being to help Workington into the first round proper of the FA Cup when the Reds face Nuneaton Town at Borough Park tomorrow afternoon, Workington boss Darren Edmondson commenting to BBC Radio Cumbria on the addition of Bowman to his matchday squad :

" We are delighted to add Ryan Bowman from Carlisle to the squad tomorrow, he will go straight into the squad. So, hopefully if used or whichever capactity Ryan plays in he will do a good job for us tomorrow.

" We are thankful to Carlisle and Greg (Abbott) for that, he has come up with the goods when I have needed him to, and they have given him permission to play tomorrow in the FA Cup. So, whichever capacity we use him in we are hopeful that Ryan will produce something for us. "




Meanwhile Reds assistant boss Viv Busby said :

" He is a good player, strong quick. Obviously it is good for him to get out and with the injuries we have got we neded an extra body. He did well when he was here with us last time and hopefully he will get good experience from it as Tom Aldred did when he came from Carlisle. They have been good enough to let us have him so I am looking forward to seeing him play again. "
