The first round of the FA Cup with Budweiser takes place this weekend, while the draw for the second stage of the competittion is this coming Sunday afternoon live on ITV1 at around 2.40pm following the conclusion of the first round clash between FC Halifax Town and Charlton Athletic. The draw itself being made at Wembley Stadium by Ray Crawford and Norman Hunter who faced each other during Colchester's 3-2 home fifth round victory over Leeds in 1971.
Before that though 78 clubs, in 39 matches with Morecambe v Sheffield Wednesday taking place after the second round draw, will be looking to move a step closer to drawing a big gun in the third stage of the competition. Carlisle, who are potentially ball number fourteen in the second round draw, themselves hoping they aren't the victim of a cup shock at the first hurdle when they take on Alfreton Town in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday afternoon at the Impact Arena.
