Carlisle's Andy Cook
After joining Workington in mid-February, 18-year old Cook, has started four matches and been a used substitute four times for the Conference North Reds. His debut goal for the West Cumbrian outfit coming on the road ten days ago in a 5-0 demolition of free-falling Farsley Celtic.

The Bishop Auckland-born forward, who signed an 18-month professional contract at Brunton Park in early January, currently had seen his one-month loan spell with Workington about to run out after this Saturday's home game against Hinckley United. Reds boss Darren Edmondson has now extended that deal though as he commented last night to BBC Radio Cumbria :

" I have spoken to Andy this afternoon and he confirmed that he has agreed with Greg (Abbott) to come back for another month, so that is fantastic news for us. This has been a tough month for him, he is 18, he has been shoved into a tough league and has been asked to help us out. His two goals in his last couple of games, it is hard for him but hopefully he is learning all the time and he can now come and join us for another month.

" I have made an approach to try to bring Stevie (Hindmarch) on loan for a month too. At the moment though it is proving difficult to get Paul Simpson to let him away from there. So I will try again next week, Paul has got his reasons so I will try again my hardest next week. He is somebody that I would like to try to get in for a month if possible.

" I am not sure what his situation is down at Shrewsbury regarding next season so I am also thinking ahead for next year as well on that one. It is something that I have thought about with Shaun Vipond going but I don't think that Steven is a natural centre midfielder, although that is a position that we are looking to strengthen as well as Steven if possible. Steven would give us something to the squad on a more forward basis. "
