Ashley Eastham
The Preston-born defender coming to Carlisle as United's ninth loan transfer of the season on a temporary deal that runs until January 3rd. Eastham, who has been given permission to feature for the Blues in the FA Cup, came through the youth ranks at Blackpool before signing a two year professional contract with the Tangerines in the summer of 2009.

Eastham then last season going out on loan to Blue Square North outfit Hyde United for a six week period where he made 11 starts and scored one goal before being recalled to Bloomfield Road. Eastham quickly making his Seasiders debut in a late September 4-3 Carling Cup defeat by Stoke in which he started the game, his only other appearance for Blackpool coming the following weekend when he came off the bench in a 2-0 home league win over Peterborough.

It was then back to reserve team football for Eastham for a couple of months before he joined League Two outfit Cheltenham Town on loan in early December 2009 for an initial five weeks. It was back to Blackpool to cover for suspensions for a short period after that, but then it was down the M6 again as Ashley linked up with the Robins once more in mid-January, this time until the end of the season. Eastham in the end making 18 starts and two substitute appearances for the Robins.

As for this season, the 19-year old has made it into Blackpool's matchday eighteen just the once as an unused replacement in a 4-3 Carling Cup defeat at MK Dons. And, with so many injured and loanee defenders at Brunton Park at the moment it's pretty difficult to work out what matchday action Eastham will get at Carlisle until his loan spell ends early in the New Year.
