In League One as a whole in that period there were a total of 463 player transactions, of which 85 involved the use of an agent, the total agents' fees for those 85 deals being £208,563. With it being a quieter time of the season for signings only eleven clubs committed to pay the services of a licensed agent, those being Bradford City, Brighton, Bristol City, Chesterfield, Doncaster, Leyton Orient, Millwall, Northampton, Oldham, Swansea and Yeovil.
So, onto Carlisle's wheeling and dealings in that six month period, the Cumbrians were involved in 19 total player transactions. Those spilt into three new registrations or transfers, one updated contract, six cancelled contracts and nine loan signings. Encouragingly United's zero total spend on agents' fees is down on the £5,500 and £3,120 spent in the respective preceeding six month period blocks.
Carlisle are also miles behind some clubs in the amount spent in an area which many people object to. Bristol City and Millwall for example have had mind-boggling spends of £163,580 and £111,140 respectively in the last twelve months, with Yeovil Town not much further behind with, for the size of the club, an alarmingly large £53,838.
