In League One as a whole in that period there were a total of 607 player transactions, of which 99 saw an agent receive payment, the total agents' fees for those 99 deals being £1,039,484. 21 clubs of the 24 committed to pay the services of a licensed agent, with the three who didn't being Crewe Alexandra, Hartlepool United and Huddersfield Town.
So, onto Carlisle's wheeling and dealings in that six month period, the Cumbrians were involved in 24 total player transactions. Those spilt into 14 new registrations or transfers, eight updated contracts and two loan signings. United's total spend of £30,000 on agents' fees is up £24,500 from the £5,500 spent in the same six month period from July to December 2007, Carlisle's spend on fees from January to June of this year actually being £0.
Of the 21 clubs that did pay for the services of a licensed agent the Blues come out 12th in total spend. Two clubs that supposedly don't have a penny to spare in Leeds United and Luton Town amazingly leading the way with monstrous totals of £173,000 and £157,750 respectively.
