Andrews
The Carlisle-born 23-year old was the only player released by the Blues at the end of United's League Two title-winning campaign, the versatile defender finding it extremely hard to break into a first-team back four in such good form. Lee moved to Torquay on loan on the 17th of March until the end of the season, and with the Gulls securing League Two football next season he has now been offered a permanent one-year contract with the Devonians. Andrews was also on-loan to Conference outfit York City earlier in the season, and made only two appearances for the United first-team during the 2005-06 campaign, although he did make 117 starts for the Cumbrians during his five-year spell with the club.

Ian Atkins, the current Torquay manager, was the boss at Brunton Park while Andrews was learning his trade in Carlisle's youth team, and he knows the uses a versatile player like Andrews can bring to his Gulls side. Atkins telling the official Torquay club website : "I've known Lee for a few years now and he's pacy and can also play in several positions, which is a very useful asset. He did well for us at the end of the season coming into a losing side and helping to pull things round."
