The Derby-born teenager who spent two years in Eric Kinder's youth ranks started off life as a central or right-sided midfielder before switching to his current position of right-back for his second season with the youth team. Gwinnutt shining in that role with some wholehearted displays that caught the eye of Blues boss Greg Abbott for him to offer a 12-month professional contract, which today the 17-year old has finalised and signed.
