James has made two starts for United so far, in the 2-1 win at Brighton and the 5-0 hammering at Swansea City in December, he has also been an unused substitute twice recently at home to Bradford and away to Northampton due to the absence of first choice centre-half Peter Murphy. He will have moved up the defensive pecking order at Carlisle now though with Simon Grand moving on to Grimsby Town on a permanent basis today.

Bury St. Edmunds-born defender Krause initially linked up with the Cumbrians on a two-month loan deal mainly as cover for Zigor Aranalde and Peter Murphy who were both sitting one match away from serving a suspension on four yellow cards apiece in mid-November. The 19-year old having been recommended to United boss Neil McDonald by Colin Suggett who is the chief scout at Brunton Park, Suggett having held the same position at Portman Road before making the move up to Cumbria in the summer.

Krause has been unable to break into the first team ranks with the Tractor Boys, his only appearance in the Town sixteen coming as an unused substitute in Ipswich's final game of the 2005-06 season, a 2-1 defeat at home to Plymouth Argyle. The youngster is being tipped as a possible successor at left-back to veteran Spaniard Aranalde though, with the loan move, which now runs until the end of the season, having the possibility of being made permanent if Krause impresses at Brunton Park.
