The coaching shake-up at Brunton Park continues apiece with Kinder the latest man to join the team, the 48-year old set to work alongside David Wilkes in a new-look youth regime. Kinder worked with Blues boss Neil McDonald when the latter was youth team manager at Preston and he will take over the running of United's youth team, thus freeing up Wilkes to run the club's centre of excellence.

Kinder leaves his current job to take on the new role at Brunton Park after eight years at Ewood Park where he was involved with the recruitment side of things and also the under-16s coach.

Neil McDonald told the News and Star on the appointment of Kinder :

"Eric is an excellent coach and he has seen some good players through into the first team at Blackburn. He is someone I wanted here right from the start. He will take the youth team, coaching and developing them on a day-to-day basis, and help set up a better scouting network. He will oversee the whole set-up, and I want Carlisle to be the best centre of excellence in the country in a few years' time."
