A pitch inspection at London Road this morning actually deemed the playing surface fit, but it was those age old Health and Safety concerns that meant that the match was called off. The local Peterborough police and the club's safety officer deeming the stands and the approaches to the ground unsafe with yet another freezing cold night forecast, the game now being rearranged for Tuesday the 24th of February at 7.45pm.
Carlisle had requested an early inspection ahead of them travelling down to Leicester for training this afternoon, and the news coming through for the staff and players before they set off that the game was going to be postponed was surely not pleasing from a fixture backlog perspective. United now having three matches called off in the last five weeks, the other two being home games against Walsall and Hereford.
