United midfielder Luke Joyce
With a raft of players in his position being signed for temporary spells at Brunton Park at the moment Joyce has headed down the M6 to Holker Street to find first-team football for just short of six weeks. The 21-year old going straight into the Barrow squad, with United having no concern about him being cup-tied, for the Bluebirds televised FA Cup second round tie at home to Brentford on Monday evening.

Joyce joined Carlisle from Wigan in the summer of 2006, after initially linking up with the Cumbrians on a work experience deal in March of that year. The Bolton-born midfielder penning a two-year contract under then boss Paul Simpson before extending that by 12 months this summer in agreement with former Blues manager John Ward.

A regular run in the United first-team has been hard to find for Luke, although he has managed to get himself on the scoresheet numerous times for the reserves. With just 13 starts and 15 substitute appearances though, while scoring two goals, and out of contract at the end of this season at Brunton Park, this loan move to Barrow could be an ideal opportunity for the 21-year old to get himself in the shop window.
