Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has decided not to pursue his interest in triallist goalkeeper Robbie Thomson. “We looked at him as a possible permanent signing but we weren't sure about him challenging Mark [Gillespie]. He's got other options at the moment and he will go off to pursue those. We'll keep looking for another goalkeeper but it will probably be a loan deal, if we can make that happen," said Abbott.
Of the others on trial with the Blues, Jordan Deacey is still training with the club and will play at Garforth next week but Danny Grainger is now training at another club. Danny Emerton and Paul Weldon have another week in which to impress and United have asked Lewis Guy to stay for a couple more weeks.
